Status: Working canon
A Chorus Mage is born with sensitivity to Chorus Winds, not made. Sensitivity does not require Academy training; some never experience their ability beyond fleeting awareness (e.g. “What was that sound just now?”).
In Bytorsskug (~1.3M): 19 Chorus Mages; 12 in state positions (3 elected at second-highest government tier); 2 unregistered (state count: 17).
Being a Hunter does not require being a Chorus Mage (almost none are).
